(AP Photo/Jacques Brinon) Sponsored Links The Associated Press PARIS The Louis Vuitton man moved from the eastern Himalayas of last season to the sunny West Coast of the United States for this spring-summer 2014. “This was the American road trip, just enjoying and celebrating Americana from NASA through to the traditional things such as bandanas,” said designer Kim Jones, breaking a sweat backstage Thursday at the Paris show that was held inside a scorching conservatory. The collection ranged from the road trip, as imagined in khaki parkas with travel badges and cotton printed bandanas, to a whole mix of different American styles: From sportswear, as in white, blue and red silk graph check tailored shorts, to Gatsby-style evening suits in raw kimono silk with a classy curved lower part. As ever, when traveling anywhere Vuitton-style, don’t expect to rough it. Stylish and coiffed David Beckham looked approvingly on from the front row. Silhouettes were tight and masculine. The 41 classy looks were fairly eclectic and so served up a little something for everyone. The collection, however, produced no great creative surprises, apart from the piece de resistance: A fantastic retro black silk jacket with mother-of-pearl jacquard featuring the famed LV monogram.

New Louis Vuitton store opens in Ramat Aviv mall Photo: Itay Sikolski Behind two large, dark wood doors, the latest Louis Vuitton VIP room in the world is an elegant oasis in the midst of a somewhat hectic mall. Available upon appointment, shoppers can lounge in cream-colored chairs, sip on a complementary beverage, and be given a presentation on merchandise by a salesperson. While this may sound like something straight out of Paris or Milan, this latest VIP room can be found in the upscale mall in Ramat Aviv, a suburb of Tel Aviv. The only Louis Vuitton store in Israel relocated there in mid-June and is one of only seven of their stores in the world with a VIP room. At present, the room features the Rare and Exotic Collection, a group of handbags made with variations of animal skin and Louis Vuitton canvas. The collection also features the most expensive bag in the store, the Bowling handbag. At NIS 70,000, the Bowling is made of Louis Vuitton canvas, python and crocodile skins. We have one of the seven VIP rooms [in the world] because there was such a demand here, Ayelet Dobkin, a publicist for Louis Vuitton said. This store is three times bigger than the first Louis Vuitton store built in Israel. Louis Vuitton Sales Associate Asaf Mizrahi agreed that it was vital to add the exclusivity to the Ramat Aviv store. One of the core values of Louis Vuitton, he said, is rarity.

E.L. James is most powerful author on Forbes top celebs list

Not been keeping up with the fraud fight? Don’t worry, we’ve summarised the full details for you here , but basically Hermes has accused Louis Vuitton’s parent company of illegally trying to amass a majority stake in its shareholdings. As the case continued to play out in a French court this week, Hermes reportedly accused LVMH of committing the “most important fraud in the history of the French stock market.” It’s a heavy claim and Hermes representatives have shown no sign of wavering under the power of their words, but despite the severity of the accusations, LVMH is still claiming total innocence. In fact, a spokesperson has gone so far as to tell French newspapers that Hermes’ claims should be dismissed entirely, and considered a part of a wider slander campaign. Eeish. You can’t get more of an ‘it wasn’t me’ than that. What do you think? Reckon LVMH was up to no good? More details here to help you decide.

Marc, 50, who http://www.wsmisports.com/louisvuittonoutlet.html opted for the eye-catching ensemble embellished with a classic Japanese print for the fashion show, was even carrying a small, black handbag at the show which was part of Paris Fashion Week. Upstaged: Marc Jacobs stole the limelight from David Beckham as the pair attended the Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton show during Paris Fashion Week on Thursday The only similarities between the pair were their rather similar goatee/ beards and the sleeve of tattoos on their arms. Whilst Beckham, 38, was smiling for the photographers, Marc was stern-faced and clearly very serious about his fashion decision. But David is no stranger to causing controversy himself with his fashion choices, and first launched his ‘fashion icon status’ when he and Victoria wore matching sarongs back in 1998. Dressed down day: Becks cut a casual appearance in his jeans, T-shirt and brown boots for the show Sporting pals: Becks posed up with Victor Cruz ahead of the show starting during fashion week He since made a number of outlandish fashion decisions such his and hers matching leather jackets with Victoria, a bandana, mohawk and double diamond earrings which have certainly got him noticed over the years. Also joining Beckham on the front row of the Louis Vuitton fashion show was American footballer, Victor Cruz, who adopted a similar style to the Paris Saint-Germain footballer. The New York Giants star smiled as he posed for a photo with Beckham wearing a buttoned-up white shirt, double-breasted navy suit blazer, fitted mottled grey suit trousers finished off with a pair of white trainers. Ready for bed: Marc’s printed two-piece was also reminiscent of pyjamas Front row friends: Marc and David sat just one seat apart as they took in the show David, who is no novice on photo shoots, posed for individual shots at the Paris venue before the show. He was then seen sitting front row at the show, paying attention to the items walking down the runway.

Arnault, 38, will join LVMHs largest brand in September from Christian Dior Couture, where she has been deputy managing director since 2008, the Paris-based luxury goods maker said today in a statement. The executives knowledge of high-quality products and her experience at Dior are key assets to contribute to the successful development of Louis Vuitton, Michael Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of the handbag maker, said in a statement. Vuitton is raising prices, using more leather as well as fewer logos in its product mix and limiting store expansion to regain its luster as sales growth slows from Barcelona to Beijing. LVMH, the worlds largest luxury goods maker, in April posted its weakest fashion and leather goods sales growth since 2009. Vuitton, which accounted for about half of LVMHs 5.9 billion euros ($7.7 billion) in earnings before interest and taxes in 2012, needs fixing, said Luca Solca, an analyst at Exane BNP Paribas. I can hardly imagine a more important job within the group than to be overseeing this process. It can be a coming of age assignment. The shares gained as much as 2.5 percent in Paris trading and were up 2.1 percent to 121.7 euros as of 4:33 p.m. To contact the reporter on this story: Andrew Roberts in Paris at aroberts36@bloomberg.net To contact the editor responsible for this story: Celeste Perri at cperri@bloomberg.net Facebook

A report last month by consultancy Millward Brown Optimor estimated that Vuittons brand value declined 12 percent over the past year. LVMH in April reported its weakest fashion and leather goods revenues in more than three years as sales flattened in China. As consumers make room for those luxuries that make them feel better by trading down on other items, it is the middle-of-the-road brands, such as Vuitton, that have suffered, Millward Brown Optimor said. Delphine Arnaults task will be to give the brand a more exclusive aura, deemphasizing its ubiquitous monogrammed canvas bags and introducing costlier leather bags. In the short term, that could depress sales growth, as LVMH also has said it plans to open fewer Vuitton boutiques. Delphine is the eldest of Bernard Arnaults five children.
